The End of Summer
Our commune plans are coming right along! We haven't really agreed on where we will have our commune though. I think Eureka Springs might work or Beaver Lake. The cows and chickens seem to be up for debate as well. I don't have a problem eating something I've helped raise - BUT I can't kill it - so someone is gonna have to do that part. Cindy think's she's up for it. Another prob with our plans are the time frame of putting it in place AND will we allow any of our children to be there...hmmmmmm.
And then, do we have 1 big house or a bunch of pod bedrooms that meet in a central living/kitchen/dining area or all just separate houses. I dunno!
And I think I somewhat miss Xanga - but not - but maybe! Yeah - apparently still debating that one. Poor daughter is feeling mmmm probably frustrated would be the best adjective - I don't blame her - I've been exactly in her situation. I'm trying really, really hard to stay shhhhhh - it's really hard!!! I certainly get how she feels, but yeah.
Well gotta get off her and grade some papers. Ciao!

Reunion
Chuck's class spent the weekend at a resort. What a great idea! It was very relaxed, lots of time to visit, hang out, party - all those things we did back then. I liked it much better than the fancy dinner deal! I will say, however, I'm still sick from the resort - LOTS OF MOLD! In the room, outside on the building and of course mold is just bad right now because of all the rain and the lake. YIKES!! However, it has pushed me to go back to the allergist to start on getting shots again - so, yeah!
If they could remove all the mold - what a great old place! But, I really like the idea of a resort on the lake! Keeps everyone off the roads, safe from accidents and tickets! Hmmm - now to search for a resort that is less moldy! LOL!!!
Well - gotta go! It's Wednesday Pool day! Yeah for Wednesdays! Then tomorrow it's back to getting all the summer doctoring out of the way - today was the dentist, mhm, ok - 1 cavity - what's up with that? Haven't had any in forever! Tomorrow is the allergist, Friday - to the mammogram people, I need to get in to see the eye doctor next week sometime! All right - gotta go! Hope to have someone comment - come on people it's not that hard! Gooooooodnesss!

Welcome!
Here's what's going on with us...
Mikel is in the big city with her honey, Jared. She is working at a pet store and in charge of FISH! She's also been working in the kennel with the puppies. I think that's her favorite! She seems to really like it. She should be finishing her associates degree this fall. I think she's undecided what she's doing after that. I hope she continues on and finishes a bachelor's degree - but, if she's not sure what she wants to do - then maybe it's better to pause - but I'm not sure - time will tell. She's been dating Jared for 2 years now. They seem to be a good match for each other - they both like to have fun and seem to be able to work things out when the need arises. They were gracious enough to let me spend 2 weeks with them in the "big city" while I took graduate classes. Six hours in two weeks - you can't beat that.
Chuck is busy at school this summer and will be very busy once they are done excavating the new baseball field on campus. I can't believe what a process that has been - they are putting the field in the side of mountain basically! During softball this summer one of the charges was too hot and blasted rock into left field. The projectile was about mmmmm roughly 10x6 small boulder and it went probably 6-8 inches into the ground when it fell. Glad we weren't standing there watching it from the field!!! YIKES! I can see it now - "I got it!" BAM - okay - well - her neck seems to be in her shoulders now - okay - kinda morbid - sorry!
As for me - just finished with summer softball, and a couple weeks ago I finished 6 hours of graduate school. I really loved the classes, however. I learned a lot that I have already put to use for the upcoming school year - for example - uh - BLOGGING! Well - I'm kinda getting this - just not sure on how it's going to interact with you guys - the fam. Love to hear your ideas, etc.
This will be the 2nd year of teaching at Camdenton for me. We will be having a new to us principal and a new asst. principal. The principal met me when I was a baby. Crazy - how small is this world anyway?! He had to have been a kid himself - he seems to think I was spoiled - go figure, LOL!!!
We actually made it camping once so far this summer. We are the proud owners of half a Pop up camper now! That's pretty exciting! I can't believe how an air conditioner can cool - basically a tent. Thank goodness for modern conveniences. Now if it only had a bathroom....mhm....I'm thinking upgrade down the road - how about you?
We are headed to Branson before the end of summer with the lovely Winther family & I think the Smothers as well. That's always a great time! I'm looking forward to it. Hopefully our newest friends, the Perrins - Roy and Linda, will wish to go as well. We had a great time that last outing! Roy and Linda are Jared's mom and step-father. Super people!
We ended up going to their home for 1 of our 4th of July celebrations! What a great time! The neighbors on their street put on quite the show - blocking off both ends of the road! It was a great and memorable time! Roy was completely dressed appropriately for the celebration! Even with the melt down in the end - it was beautiful - and that just simply added to the excitement!
We also celebrated the 4th at Camelot! John helped decorate - hmmm!??? Why was that John? - JK JK It looked very nice! Camelot with John and Betty, Chris and Cindy, Tim and Janelle, Scotty and Amber and ALL THE KIDS is always a good time! John's brother, Gary, and Amber's mom also joined in the excitement as well. Lots of people ended up in the pool - not on their own accord. LOL! Fun, Fun! We missed the Hastings this year, though! ALSO - I missed seeing my sister Jeannie's fireworks! She - hands down - puts on the best show!
Hope everyone enjoyed their Fourth of July! I would love for all of you to start your own blog and we can all link to each other's pages. Leave a comment - we would love to hear from you. Love you guys! Ciao!
